It sounds like a recipe for disaster, at the most critical point in a dive, the point at which you or your buddy are running out of gas, you will need to fumble around w/ hoses to try and reconnect them. At some point during the reconnection you will have no gas supply. I couldn't think of a worse possible way to rig your back up. Also, ask yourself do you really need a FFM. As you can see even running a back up starts to get convoluted. The FFM is a compromise unless you need it for very specific types of diving. In general I think FFM's are a bad idea, if you decide you need a FFM you should really way the risks involved w/ a FFM.
