The 905 is essentially the same suit Dacor used to sell as the Extreme. made in Finland by Polarsafety. It's a polyester rather than nylon trilam, which makes it more flexible without giving away much durability. Everyone I know with the old Dacor suits loves them, and Dive Rite has made a number of improvements on it and expanded the range of stock sizes. You still don't get the range of fit options DUI or other semi-customs gives, and it's a shoulder zipper/non-self donning suit (which some people prefer, since zipper life is usually longer, and replacement easier/cheaper) but you can buy one for half what a DUI will cost you. So it really boils down to fit - if you can find one that fits you well, it can be a very good buy. The Transpak? I'll let the others take that one ;-) -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
