I think that the problem most people had with the direction of A/C is that
it was beginning to compromise on quality information in exchange for fluff
("pretty people pictures"). SD is, of course, ALL fluff (except for the
adds, which actually leaves very little room for fluff), so is not a good
alternative. A lot of us believe A/C reached its peak with the "C2" issue,
then got kinda weird with the art stuff.

I agree with you though, that even at its "worst", A/C has always been my
favorite dive publication.

P.S.,  I believe the next issue of A/C will actually publish its first
official "pretty fishies" photographs: two new species of angelfishes Chip
Boyle and I discovered in 300-400fsw in the Cook Islands.  I guess that
will mark the beginning of the end for SD! ;-)
