(Not sure which list I wrote this on last time), but a friend of mine knows
an Icythoogist who says there significant behavioural differences in the GWs
of South Africa compared to those in South Australia (the 'other' GW capital
on the planet. 

The ones in South Australia are a lot more aggressive and unpredictable. I
believe most (if not all)  of the 'swimming outside the cage with GWs' type
of stuff (Jean Cousteau etc) has been done in South Africa.  No way I'd be
swimming free with Whites in Ceduna or Port Lincoln.

An unfortunate Australian abalone diver was bitten in half a month ago in
Ceduna wearing an electronic shark repellant device. If a White is hungry
and wants you, it's going to get you regardless.

Of course a lot of so called 'miraculous' escapes from Whites are because
they 'mouth' things to find out more about them, it just that we soft little
humans don't respond well to that type of 'investigation' ;-)
