I already said clip them to the stages if you have stages, clip them to the hip if you do not. If you have reels, that means you are planning on running them, so they will be the first thing you deploy, right? Or are we just doing this for show? Why two reels? JJ and I carry five, but they come home empty, and that is cave, not wreck. The spools go in the pocket. Why would you want something hanging off of your ass that could trap you and kill you? Probably the worst thing I ever did is show that harness I have with the ass ring. That ring is a cave thing for carrying stuff where getting hung up is merely an annoyance, not a death sentence. I rarely use it other than to carry excess crap for what we are doing. I clip all my scooters to one leash which comes around to my front d ring, and I take them of in a bunch when I want to switch or get them out of my way. I do the same with stages - one bunch on the hip, one bottle on my chest and hip. It is amazing, if I do something stupid, the whole world copies it. If do something smart, I have to argue it to death. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Stenton [mailto:jacs@gn*.co*.uk*] Sent: Tuesday, April 23, 2002 6:32 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Securing Reels for wreck diving If its not a good idea to clip your reels to the rear D ring for wreck diving where should they be clipped off? I find that having 2 stage cylinders, 2 reels and a SPG clipped to the left hip D ring with cold water gloves on is a recipe for cross clipping.
