Greetings:

I have owned a Dacor, a Farallon, and now a Gavin. I also have dove
Torpedoes. The Gavin is in a class by itself. It is fast and easy to
control. When you first get a close look at the Gavin, it looks very
different from the other DPVs. I finally figured out why it looked
different--it looks like equipment to be used in a commercial activity. It
looks 'industrial strength'. The speed startles you at first until you
realize how easy it is to control. On the first dive I screwed up putting
one of the O-rings in and the Gavin flooded and it still ran. I don't
recommend flooding it with salt water but with a thorough rinsing, it was
fine. :)

I am going back to Hawaii next Saturday and we (Garry Wilson of Dive Tek
Adventures and I) will conduct a number of test dives with the Gavins. Any
one who is interested in the results, please let me know.

Regards,

John.
