Scott, the problem is that the foxes are in charge of the henhouse. The CDS
and NACD are run by instructors who make their living teaching diving. No
organization of any kind would tolerate the idiocy of the NACD training
director.

These two organizations are a disgrace.

Why worry about narrowing the field when the Training Director, Mr. John
Orlowski, himself does this very practice.  If the head stroke does it,
then it must be OK for the minions.  I have witnessed him, on more than on
occasion, flick butts into the water and exhale through his regulator.  I
have also watched him drink beer in his drysuit, while teaching a class,
combination ITC and Intro course, at Peacock.  Then he proceeded to tell
everyone about the Halloween party he was going to and how hammered he was
going to get that night when there was still more class the next
day.  Gross violations of ethical standards and laws, but no one cared, and
he continues.  He also meets several of the items listed below.
