"Dr." Blackhead, Dive Tech in Grand Cayman is a good operation. They are not DIR, but no one should hold that against them. :-) FYI, yes, the marine life is more interesting at depth. The sponges are larger, the coral is more pristine, and the reef itself is much less beaten up than the regular tourist haunts. 250' is a great depth for seeing cool stuff. I had great experiences with the staff, Dan Hodgins & Tara Cunningham in particular. You will probably see a DIR-ist or two while you're there, since we're all over the place now (we had the second meeting of the San Diego DIR club last night -- over 20 people). In my 25 years of diving around the globe, I've seen lots of DIR-oriented divers: No. FL, Belize, Hawaii, Mexico, Cayman, Truk, etc. Perhaps you need an eye checkup, Doc... :-) Toodles & GFY, Perry Perry Armor Chief Instigator Divegeeks, Inc. http://www.divegeeks.com 858.748.9501 -----Original Message----- From: Michael J. Although I have always considered Cayman Brac and Little Cayman to be better diving destinations, Dive Tech looks very good from what I have read and heard, and the tech diving opportunities in the Caymans are pretty much limited to Grand right now. BTW the Russian Destroyer on Brac is barely a tech dive IMHO. Two things I intend to look for: 1) are coral and marine life any more interesting at 200 feet on trimix than at 20 feet on air?, and 2) will I see my first Doing-It-Rightist? -- so far, after twenty-six years of diving around the globe, I have yet to see a single one on any dive trip (I think they exist only in cyberspace and one or two Northern FL caves).
