As an added objective while getting my cave certifications, I was =
thinking of starting to gather some scientific data on the caves and =
mines I have been diving, in Missouri. The question I have is, what data =
is useful?

Some of the items I had in mind were:

Water=20
pH, Potassium, Chlorides, Calcium, Iron, Lead, turbidity, total =
dissolved solids, Bacteria counts for SRB's, Anaerobic, Aerobic.

Air Pockets
H2S, LEL, O2, & CO2

Most of these can be done in the field with the exception of incubating =
the bacteria cultures, and mg/l of solids. I thought nitrates could be =
of interest, but I'm not sure of the procedure. Any other data of =
interest that a could be easily gathered?=20
