Don't play ignorant here George. You know that they can pull an ambient sample
from the bottle to determine its contents. This is routinely done in the testing
of regular compressed air for trace gasses.

The bottle had gas before the dive (or why would he have even taken it in the
water) and after the dive it was found empty with the valve completely loose in
its threading. Clearly the bottle had been mishandled, but with a high
percentage of helium detected in the ambient gas remaining there is no question
about what happened.

Okay, go ahead and tell everybody what a horrifying stroke I am again; but don't
waste your breath trying to defend your previous lies.
