Hi Chris, My preferred hitch for attaching line to snaps is a Bunt-Line Hitch. It has been used by seamen for centuries and is excellent in wet conditions. It will not slip nor creep, snugs tightly to the snap and uses the least amount of rope of any hitch I'm familiar with - and not having a bulging knot makes the attachment very clean. Since a picture is worth a thousand words - here 'ya go: http://www.porter-az.com/scuba/images/buntline-hitch.jpg As with all knots, be sure to tie it correctly.....
