Oops, Sorry.  Yep KMB is a Kirby Morgan.  The 17 is the helmet type (now
superseded by the 27) it is a fiberglass shell that covers your whole head.
It has a front port that you look through (if there is anything to see) and
the air is delivered by a second stage that looks a lot like a us divers
metal type (I think the KMB came first) or by a vent that comes in at eyebrow
level.  The neck ring can be locked into a neck dam, or onto a drysuit if
it has the right neck seal.  Your whole head stays warm and dry, comms work
*great* and they are very rugged and reliable.  There is an oral nasal mask
inside that cuts down on dead air space, that is also very comfortable, and
there is a nose peg for clearing your ears that you can pull out of the way
when not using it.  I wish I could afford one :)
