Mike, I understand where you are coming from and I share your "ideology" on this. I Ride a 1200 Suzuki Bandit. Unlike you I wear a helmet. I do so b/c I chose to, but I strongly support your right to ride w/o a helmet. I would not dive the RBJ solo, but I think you have a right to if you so chose. Buddy separations can happen. Few if any of us can honestly say that they have, on all occasions, had continual visual contact with their buddy while doing a free descent to a deep wreck. You did your best to find Eric. When you couldn't find him you called the dive in case he was injured on the surface. You were willing to put yourself at risk to do a repetitive dive to search for Eric. You had the courage to share the details of the incident. There are always those who will throw stones. Don't blame yourself. -Marty ----- Original Message ----- From: <MICHAELPIZZIO@cs*.co*> To: <rose@cs*.sc*.ed*> Cc: <strohm@ai*.ne*>; <dsmith218@ho*.co*>; <trey@ne*.co*>; <FLTechDiver@mikey.net>; <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 19, 2001 11:28 AM Subject: Re: Death of Eric Reichardt, 9/16/01 > John, > > Just heading out on my 1500 Kawaski Vulcan for a ride before work.
