Dear all, I beg you a pardon for this off topic message but I
feel I have to write this down and let you know:
During the past few days, since Sept. the 11th, europeans of all
conditions, everywhere, have shown both how they love New York
and how close we all are:
The "Big Apple", La Gran Manzana, is in the mind of every person
from kids in primary school to the elderly, from presidents and
prime ministers and kings and queens to the most humble layman.
Everyone feels sorrow, sadness and rage.
Everyone loves the Big Apple because it is a mosaic of people,
nationalities and cultures. New York is like a "mother" who has
taken care and fed peoples from all countries and conditions.
People in need, the hungry, the opresso. Everyone here either has
or has had a relative or a friend in New York. Everyone has been,
would come to visit or dreams of coming to New York. New York is
a fixed point in everyone's personal agenda, it is a bridge
between peoples and among individuals. All nations were
represented in the immolation of the innocent ...
And the terrorists didnt know that MILLIONS of new yorkers,
everywhere, would be born on Sept. the 11th. That's their
greatest defeat.
I write this, as NATO tankers are loading kerosene at Las Palmas
port ...
