Simply the scooters used were not yours due to a number of > problems cited, one cited. > Bruce, that is not completely true. I have built the scooters in cooperation with George. I asked him before I built them. That was years ago. I always had his help if necessary. Despite the fact that I have all the information how to rewind the motors and did so with a lot of motors, currently all the rewinded armatures in my scooters were rewinded by George. So George is completely correct, when he puts our scooters in one basket. You guys are not realizing that there is a long time successful information exchange between DIR divers around the world. I am not in competition with George, and only I and my direct dive partner Michael are using my scooters. All other divers in our team are using scooters built by George. When I built the scooters, I changed some points. But George did the same. The Gavins today are not the same like the one's several years ago. There was a point which had to do with the aft bulkhead and centering of the shroud. We used different solutions to correct this. The nylon cones have some advantages when hitting something. The pvc does not swell on the other side. So I have to take care of isolating the nylon to avoid swelling constantly. This has something to do with the fact that I quite often dive some caves with partly low vis, where I cannot even see the nose of the scooter. There is only one relevant question: Do you want to trust your life to scooters which are not built by someone who is doing the same?
