1) yes still breathe the long hose. You can have a similar air sharing
scenario coming through a restriction in a wreck and in a cave.

2) butt mounting is bad for a few reasons. It's good to see your light so that
you can tell if anything is going wrong with it. You want it in a position
were it can be removable for wreck diving in case you get keyholed in a wreck.
It can interfere with liftbag deployment if you keep your liftbag under your
plate or on your butt ring. The MLS 2 isn't too big to hip mount. I know.
I've done it a ton of times. The problem besides the MLS2 being a crappy light
is that the belt loop is way too high. Look at an EE canister to see the
proper placement of the belt loop. It should be much closer to the middle of
the canister. When you put the canister on the waiststrap, make sure that it
is pushed all the way back against the backplate and that it is held on with a
stainless steel buckle. You'll also want to shorten the cord on the MLS or
you'll have way too much dangling even if it's wrapped around your arm.

3) I'd try to trade the DR dual bladder for a DR original wing, or better yet,
ebay the dual bladder and buy a Halcyon.
