Jozef - most of the wrecks aoound here are between 48 and 75 metres.

A group of us have been diving these wrecks for years for bottom times
between 18 and 25 minutes using bottom gas and 50. Early on we dived
straight Buhlmann tables, then modified Buhlmann with deep stops, and now
some are doing hand-shaped Buhlmann, and some, gradient factors.

Over the years, we've increased the helium content in the bottom gas (and
introduced it on the shallow wrecks) but the deco gas has remained the
same - 50% - without incident.

The only problems I've ever had have been last year on two successive
dives trialling Gradient factor tables where I felt like shit after the
dives, but that was probably the aggressive way I set the GFs not the gas.

With a real slow ascent and a good soak at 21 metres, the 50 allows you
to get most of your deco done by the time you get to the shallow stops.

I've never noticed a detectable physiological difference adding 02 or
substituting 02 for the 50%.

Depends on the bottom gas. Oxygen if the dive is shallow, 50% if it

deeper . The idea is to get good deco at all the intermediate
