ENSO  is the so called "El NiƱo", a mesoscalar inflow of tropical
(warm,  nutrient  poor)  water  which pushes off the upwelling of
cold  (nutrient  rich)  waters off the peruvian coast. It changes
climate,  weather  conditions, rain fall, primary productivity in
both sea and land, recruitment in fish, etc. The NAO is the north
atlantic  oscillation,  a  seesaw in atmospheric mass between the
subtropical  (high)  and the polar (low) which implies changes in
windvectors, gigantic eddies, etc.
