From: ddrake01 I agree with the complaints about making three courses out of two. When I got my "Nitrox Diver" card the instructor had to explain the physiology behind the problems concerning higher or lower concentrations of O2. The tables for 32 and 36 EANx are handy, but by no means a substitute for proper knowledge of how to do calculations for mixes that are not on the tables. With E. A. D. and O2 toxicity calcs, I could do any mix for a NDC dive. Granted, I was taught by a PhD in biology and have a BioMed. Engr. BS and took the course with a MD. However, the topics covered were "requirements for certification". I got a NAUI card out of it too. Somebody is definitely fishing for money by creating extraneous levels of certification. Is there any Cochran/O J defense team out there??? DAVID DRAKE AHDNN1A.DDRAKE01@ED*.CO* ROMULUS, MICHIGAN EDS/GM POWERTRAIN 8-375-5467 (GM NET)
