I would switch the connectors to banana plugs. The EE & the AUL 100 use a
fixed banana plug but you can use lose ones as well. Radio Shack has them,
they are cheap, they come in red and black for polarity identification and
you can use whatever wire you would like with them.

Other sources for the type you mentioned would be a boat dealer or a trailer
dealer as they were first used, I believe, as trailer light hookups.
