I have dived Isle Royale - The Emperor is awesome, I remember the extra prop blades still tied on the stern rail. The Congdon was also an awsome dive. A guy could easily spend a week diving nothing but these two wrecks. I have also dove the America and I think that wreck, though not deep, is great. The old truck in the hold, the piano, and the ornate wood work throughout as well as all the artifacts laying around is an unforgettable experience. The ice water of Isle Royale is also an unforgettable experience. I remember one time we were camping on the island for close to a week and it was getting so we could not stand the odor of each other. For that matter I could not stand the smell off myself. The pain of hitting the frigid water when jumping off the pier into Lake Superior to rinse the stink off is also a memorable experience. The nice thing about diving the wrecks in the Great Lakes is old wrecks still look like one invisions wrecks should look like. Not piles of coral covered ruble. On another note, I also think the Chris & Corey/ RBJ (One freighter resting across another), off Pompano, FL. is a memorable wreck dive.
