You guys have ALL missed it! This is a nothing but a very clever troll to commemorate the anniversary of last year's August silly/tragic season which, as you may remember started off with the national news coverage of TM and his dive creativity and innovation and culminated shortly thereafter in his "mysterious", tragic and absolutely needless death. There were several deaths in rapid succession and i'm sure other list members have the exact count (i just stopped reading for awhile cause it was all so unbelievably stupid and sad) this might very well be a similar such story in the making, though i'm certain none of us wish that to be the case hey - if you're going to dive independent singles, why don't you at least side mount them so you can at least see what the fuck is going on? you've obviously given up on the concept of a buddy (when the dive goes to hell, YOU won't even remember from whence the spaghetti cometh) so at least dive a configuration that you may be able to get some decent advice on - solo diving is verboten by DIR, etc but some configurations are certainly less stupid than others though the entire concept may be fatally flawed to begin with DIR, Team Stroke, Hogarthian, GUE, TDI, IANTD, yada, yada, yada. Who the hell cares? Ignorance is ignorance no matter what you label you put on it. Greater minds than yours or mine and in fact most of the people on this list have been there before - the wheel does not need to be constantly reinvented, because unfortunately those who wish to relive the sins of the past often get run right over.
