From another list: --------- On July 22, 2001, Ryan Leblanc, the President of the Superior Chapter of Save Ontario Shipwrecks, found a shipwreck graveyard of between 26 and 30 shipwrecks deliberately sunk in the 1930s just a few miles from the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The wrecks include the first vessel registered by the Dominion of Canada, the 1867 tugboat Mary Ann, and the Druid a paddleboat from the American Civil War. The wrecks are located in a one square mile in approximately 250 of water. There are no plans to recover the ships or any artifacts. Leblanc has said As long as Im co-ordinating the project, we wont be removing any artifacts. Thats part of the heritage and thats where it should remain. This is an incredible find, and may turn Thunder Bay into a mecca for technical diving.
