I have managed to offend most of the populations of Central and Northern Europe in the past 24 hours. For those who didn't write a retort but were offended or angered, I wish to appologize. Now for something I haven't been called to task for, but should have been. In a discussion of recompression, I may have made it seem like I was advocating not doing a deep dive on the first treatment. In the first treatment dive for acute DCS, the objectives are two fold- one, recompress the gas bubbles that are causing the symptoms since they will simply continue to grow and cause further damage otherwise. Second, push as much oxygen to the ischemic tissues as possible by directly loading the tissues without adequate circulation. What I was discussing was treatment on subsequent cycles where the inert gas bubbles are gone, and the residual injury is being treated. Now I'm off to Long Island Sound to look for trolls without Scandinavian names that can teach me colloquial German:) Wendell -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
