This is the worst bullshit you have posted yet. You "learned" crap, and you have already proven that here and in all your posts. Too bad I am not as "good" as you, Karla: I have to dive END's of 60 feet to be sure I am all there, would prefer and END of 0 , but then I am not as tough or smart as you. Maybe I'll get there someday . Hey, give me the name of that "instructor" - maybe he can fix me , too. -----Original Message----- From: Dogtrner1@ao*.co* [mailto:Dogtrner1@ao*.co*] Sent: Friday, July 27, 2001 6:20 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Deep Air I am wondering, since my deep air course, didn't really seem to be re diving on air, as much as the skills and redundancy that one needs to dive the deeper depths, if maybe it shouldn't be renamed "DEEPER DIVING" When I went through my "deep air" course, I was taught more of the proper uses of nitrox, using stage bottles, learnign to use a lift bag, the dangers of narcosis, and the need for redundancy. There was not a single thing re: diving on air. My instructor does not necessarily advocate it. On the other hand, as someone on another list posted, I am probably not going to dive Helium on dive that is shallower than say 140. Anything more than 140-165, yes, but not shallower. I know what my abilities are, and are not. I tend to be more affected by CO2 buildup than I do narcosis, which tends, I know to lead to narcosis. Hence, I don't do strong currents, or super cold water----less than 65 degrees or so...And strong currents to me, are anything from 1.5 up. Btw, re: computers. I own one, I use one. I don't use it for the deeper stuff, except as a timer, as it is not a three gas computer. Although, I have noticed that on some dives, when set to strictly air, it is comparable to my tables that I cut for the dives. Actually, a bit more conservative. Also, as a side note, we are doing the Lowrance on Sunday. Looking forward to actually remembering the dive this time;) Just opinions, Karla Clinch Dog Training By Karla Ft.
