A week or so ago I made a post on the problems that astronauts can get into
with decompression when getting into their EVA suits. The following was on
the UTC (parent of Hamilton Sundstrand) internal web site.

<<<HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND says NASA plans to develop a "validation tool"
that
can instantly test the amount of nitrogen in astronauts' blood, helping to
protect
them better when moving from the International Space Station to outside
construction tasks. (Bloomberg, 7/19) >>>

Perhaps we are seeing the next type of dive computer in the forming stage - a
real time nitrogen measurement with constantly updated deco schedule? What
will the technology look like in 10 years? Ten years ago the Aladdin and USD
Monitor were state of the art.
