I am writing this as information on the current developments in techdiving in Greece. The recent very abrubt introduction of Nitrox training facilities in my country has troubled me significantly. Wether you could call Nitrox techdiving is not the issue. What concerns me is the abruptness of it all. Two agencies have been introduced: 1.IANDT 2. TDI We are basically two friends trained in cave and mixied gas diving in Florida and a third trained similarly in England. We recently introduced a techdiving section in a greek magazine in the hope to promote safety. OUR CONCERN How can one introduce Nitrox, and be an instructors instructor in one week. There are plans to introduce trimix in the very near future. Should this be done when no chamber offers mixed gas? (It will anyway) The commercial aspects are dominating the market with very little concern for safety. When accidents happen over here they have a downhill effect that set progress years behind We visited the facilities of IANDT and were quite positively impressed, the same cannot be said about TDI. Anyway if anyone is interested please state your opinions. PHIL
