>Does anyone have experience with the OWS suits (I think it's OWS). >They use system where you get in the front, and then the extra fabric >is tied behind your back. It looked like a good alternative to the >DUI telescoping system. I dove an OS systems Nautilus front-entry for a while. It was an abomination. The material is plastic on the inside, there is no decent foot option (dipped neoprene or RUBBER socks), the pockets sucked, and the whole bib-type front entry thing was a 3-ring circus. The extra folds of material trapped air, I had to damn near dislocate my shoulder to get into the thing, and all the folds, nylon straps, and clips that were involved in wrapping the "bib" up were severe entanglement hazards. At the time, I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (anything beat diving wet in 42deg water). Now that I'm in a DUI, I think I'd sooner dive in a bread BAG than any piece of shit that OS systems makes. Since there really isn't all that much difference in cost between OS and DUI, it would be foolish to waste money on a headache like the OS. Although it sometimes may take DUI a time or two to get the sizing right, the end result is worth it. Bite the bullet...borrow against the house, charge up the platinum card, or sell one of the kids--A DUI is worth it. Duane -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
