His buddy was doing this on an AL80? Holy crap, did anyone train these guys or did they just go to Big Bobs Discount Dive and Auto Parts Recycling Store? I've been to 120' in the open ocean with a steel 95 and done a major wreck penetration with a 4 cell light as my sole light source, wearing a wet suit, in 40 degree water. Now that I know what the hell I'm doing, I get spooked just thinking about it. I brought this up mainly because of the total lack of understanding that must have gone into the dive plan. I know people who did this sort of thing in the 60's when no one knew any better (for reference, look up the Time magazine article on diving the Doria the year after she sank). None of them would ever do it now, and therefor they are alive to pass on what they've learned. Wendell PS, someone there has told me that he was actually wearing a dry suit, but apparently the rest of the report is accurate. He was using a pony bottle, but had 900 psi in his main tank when recovered. 7/10/01 7:05:48 PM, "Thom Hadfield" <thom.hadfield@ho*.co*> wrote: >I have dove lake superior in a wet suit in 39 degree water.
