Hi I recently went through the same process. I ended up with 2 x flatheads (TX 100 1st stages) on the backgas with a TX 100 2nd stage as primary and a T20 as backup. For the stages I used the DST 1sts (basically swiveling DS4s) with TX50 2nds on both. If you plan diving trimix you need the backup to be detuned/unbalanced or you risk it free flowing with the slippery helium in it. The stage regs need to be as good as the long hose because in total time, these are the regs you may in your mouth longer than the longhose. (ie your deco is longer then your BT) You want them comfortable and easy to breathe, since deco is the last place you want to be increasing your breathing effort. In regard to Scuba pros ... I don't know. the G250 used to be a standard tech reg, but seems to be less favoured than the Apeks these days. Although price was not a factor in my buying decision, the Scubapro were considerably dearer then Apeks, but I lack the knowledge to compare/recommend them technically. > Im dragging my feet on this issue but I only wanna buy these regs once.
