On your first point DIR rec diving does not call for a dual first stages.

On your second point the "cave diving community" is without a doubt the
worse group of idiots you could possibly have called up as an example of
doing anything right. The majority of cave divers are a bunch of narcosis
junkies who's goal is to achieve high PP of nitrogen in as easy a way as
possible.

On your third point when you hear an air leak how do you know which valve to
close? by your logic you close both valves. That really helps things out.
With an isolator you close that and then you instantly save 1/2 of your gas.
With a single by the time you sit there trying to figure out which valve to
turn off and which reg to use you are shit out of luck.

You are either tech diving or you are not. If your stupid Y valve is so darn
great why is it not a standard? The standard with rec diving is to head to
the surface not sit there wrestling with regs and valves. The standard with
tech diving is doubles and I'm afraid that you will have a rather hard time
arguing that point with anybody with half a brain.

If you have read any of my posts you know my feeling about ponies, never
mind other schemes.

   Jim
