Hi All, I don't usually post much but I have a burning question.... (at least for me it is). About 6 months ago I shortened my wing inflator hose. This was awesome, one of the best things I ever did... BUT. At the time I was told that I should reverse the valve so that the oral inflator went on the outside and my hoses would then lay flat. I figured that this seemed ok because the fact that they normally cross over is pretty messy.. and It's not very hard to just turn over the valve if you do need to reach the mouthpiece for oral inflation... So I tried it out and quite liked it. Recently I was told that I should not have the valve that way because it's difficult to get to for Oral inflation. Both of the people who advised me dive with a DIR configuration and both are excellent divers... Sooooo..... Which way is the best and what's the reasoning? I'd love to hear opinions on this.. I'm comfortable diving both ways so honestly the flat hose way seems better to me, but I'm open to good reasons for changing it back as I was advised.
