Don, I'm sure someones already replied off the list but the following may be of some interest either way. At 01:15 28/06/2001 EDT, you wrote: >1) Are all Apeks regs (except for the TX100) the same internally? FWIW I own a couple of T20's and a couple of US4 first stages and did the service certificate a while back. A number of folks at the shop I DM for now have Apeks gear. Fairly sure all seconds (except TX100 as you say) are the same internally (differ in whether or not they have a heat exchanger or the knob to adjust cracking pressure). The first stages have the same service kit (and are all balanced diaphragm) but differ in whether they have a dry seal (DS) or swivel/turret (US4, DS4, UST, DST, etc). The TX100 first is constructed differently (drop forged) but works the same way (balanced diaphragm, same service kit I think). >2) Is there a difference between the Euro version and the one they import to >the states? No idea, doubt it. >3) Is the TX20 the same as the US-4 T20 is a second stage (US4 is a first stage). If you mean the combo sets that are sold by companies like US Divers and Seaquest that is a different matter. I ordered the T20 combo through US Divers. I thought I was getting a US4 first with T20 seconds but instead the combo included the UST first (unsealed turret). I obviously didn't want a turret first stage but they (the distributor) were perfectly happy to swap the UST for the US4 I wanted at no charge, so no real drama. I suspect most of the combo sets you buy come with the swivel first stages (UST, DST), I mean everyone wants a swivel first don't they? NOT :-) >4) Can the dry seal cap be fitted onto the TX20 To the US4 you mean? Pretty sure, just need the part numbers. >5) The DS-4 is not offered from SeaQuest, will the above result in a DS-4 Sounds right.
