An AUE dive team visited a previously unknown wreck on Saturday, 16 June 2001, which turned out to be the tanker Pan Massachusetts. The 456-foot long Pan Massachusetts was torpedoed by the U-128 on 19 February 1942; her loss is notable due to the fact that she was the first war casualty off Florida during World War II. A full dive report with our findings will soon follow. FWIW - she can now be found at 28 19.952'N, 80 00.028'W, resting in 296 feet of water 33 miles off Port Canaveral. We also had a cool (literally!) dive on the Cities Service Empire today. Overall, it was an incredible weekend of Florida diving! Michael C.
