Thats like the same mentality I met back in the service when they used to teach people how to freeze and consequentely under-perform. Until we turned it around. -How do you keep a sniper hands steady ? -keep him warm! -How do you keep a platoon leader's mind tuned in ? keep as warm and dry as possible! The body and mind is one. -How do you keep a student fresh and attentive ? Keep them bloody comfortable. This reasoning I see below here is both irresponsible and arrogant towards the students safety. If you dive in cold waters and cant afford to get a dry suit - dont dive.
