Hi Dennis
Sorry, but is not 3kg more, that don't work for me.
You have a lot of difference when you use a 3mm wetsuit and a 6mm wetsuit,
if you had a 3mm suit on fresh water using 5 kg, you cannot add 3kg when you
switch to salt!!...., and another stuff with afect your buoyancy is the kine
of tanks, and more if those are aluminium, and the total volume of you +
gear.

I use a 1/4" wetsuit on freshwater with like 8 Kg, when I move to the salt
water I use 9 Kg(same bc, same kine of tank)(8.8 is 10% of 8kg), then I use
a 3mm wet suit on fresh water with like 6kg (only one or two times on my
contry, in argentina the lakes are too cold for 3mm wetsuit...hehe) now, on
the sea I'm using around 7 kg (6.6 is the 10% rounded=7).
Everithing affect the buoyancy, but using the same gear that all the time
work well for me, anyway, the best is try, but all that opinions are good to
have an idea about how begin to try.
