How does one teach solo diving if the certification requires the student to dive ALONE? This is a $$$$ maker conjured up by a dying industry eager to squeaze more cash out of the hardcore diver. Same reason "Tech Diving" has been Certified by the PADI/NAUI type agencies! This SOLO certification creates a new problem for boat operators too. If customers continue to come onboard expecting to do their own thing without certification and kill themselves or just plain croack in the process - how does the operator defend this activity when a certification is available? The charter operators will be forced to require "proper" certification or risk exposure to suits! The certification agency are the only ones to benifit $$$$. There will be far more certifications then true solo divers however. Most divers don't have the BRASS (Balls/Overies) to go it ALONE anyway. They are suedo solo - schooling around the hook (Ocean) in a ball or inverted "bubble net" which only grows in direct proportion to visibility! Are there any DIVE LAWERS out there who might expand upon the implications of this farce. "When I dive ALONE - I prefer to be by MYSELF" Sorry George "Therogood" that is! I am takeing advice and working toward trimix but I see on the list of classes for that progression is deep air. I have heard that debate on hear before to and understand the mechanics of using trimix and definately see the benifits. Where is a good place to go from nitrox to doing timix and deco if deep air is not in my plans. and again the other question just for my own curiosity does tdi and others actually teach a solo class. thom Kevin E.
