Hi, I had a diver turn up with some 72's. They were to be hydro'd but there was internal rust. The diver took them away to clean them and brought them back a couple of days later rust free. The cylinders were sent for hydro and passed. When the diver picked them he told me that he had not rumbled them instead he had used Hydrocloric acid to remove the rust from inside the cylinder. From what I understand the acid breaks the bond between the rust and the steel. My question is apart from the obvious (ensuring that all traces of the acid are removed from inside the cylinder) is there anything else I need to be aware of as a gas fill provider. The diver wants to twin them up for 60m dives, as he is a mix diver I am assuming he may request a mix fill at some point. I would rather not fill them if there are any safety issues. To restate, they were Hydro'd and passed 'after' the acid clean. Paul O'Malley -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
