Need't it be? :-) :-) :-) ? I was told that the SMS2000 Carmellan rebreather's onboard computer was the innards of a PC ... And when downloading its diving log to an ordinary PC the SMS2000 has the same untidy habit as the Watfor Fortran compiler has: it writes to a loose chain. At the end, the loose chain is either connected to a directory as a file, or deleted: but not if the downloading is interrupted. When I went to Peter Readey's for a 1-day Prism course, he asked me some queries re his PC and I found on it (with CHKDSK /F) 14 megabytes of lost chains that had been created by an SMS2000 that he had been testing.
