John,
Thanks for your mail - I am mostly looking at wreck diving in the 40 - =
80mtr range around the New Zealand coast, living in Hamilton. My =
training to date is up to PADI divemaster. I've logged just over 170 =
dives, over 30 of these on wrecks between 10 - 55mtrs (New Zealand and =
Vanuatu)=20

I don't proclaim to have any technical experience, I am simply wanting =
the best training available from the outset. If someone can show me a =
better system than DIR and GUE, and prove it through logical reasoning =
then I'm all ears.
Cheers
Chaz

  HI Bruce,

DIR and GUE are not necessarily the be all end all of Diving. Don't be =
fooled by the proper gander bullshit that you see on this list. I am =
aware that there is little if any technical type training available in =
NZ, I am an Ex Pat now living in Australia.
What level of training have you had so far?
What type of Diving do you want to do?
Where in NZ are you located?
Perhaps I can advise you on where to go in this part of the world for =
the appropriate training. I am not claiming to be an expert, far from =
it.
The training available here in Australia is as good as if not better =
than the training available in the States.
I am not against DIR in fact use a lot of their idea's, however I =
don't believe in the bullshit that there is no other way or you will =
die.

    Jeff,
Sorry to bug you but you seem to be one of the aussie divers who are =
up on the play with DIR in this region (aussie/nz) and wondered if you =
(or anyone else) had considered getting GUE down to do courses in our =
neck of the woods ? (please excuse my ignorence if they are all ready =
available)

I am detirmined to get quality training and will fly to Florida if I =
have to, but a trip over the ditch would be much more cost effective ! =
especially considering the money involved in quality gear out lay, not =
to mention New Zealand's poor dollar status ( I think Fiji dollars now =
have more value than ours )

    Any ideas would be appreciated
    Chaz
