A shop over in Hoodsport WA was putting on a free = DIR Demo and I decided to attend. I met Scott Koplin over there. Scott = is from the old school. He calls a spade a spade. No games, he tells you = how it is. He was busting his ass trying to get ready for the demo and = I'm asking all these stupid questions. He answered all of them and then = some. This guy doesn't know me from Adam and at the end of the demo he = tells me that I ought to come over to his place and dive with him. I was = thinking he wasn't serious-he was! He took me and my dive bud out = several times. A lot of what we learned in the basic class had to be = thrown out the window(my buds octo-reg was completely set up wrong-by = our basic instructor). To make a long story kind of short, Scott spent = alot of time with us teaching, and just talking diving. I've never met = George Irvine. I only know him by the records he had set. I also = subscribe to the Quest list. GI is on that list quite abit and yep, = he'll flame ya if he thinks what you say is fucked up. I like people = like that. It's no BS. They tell ya how it is, no games. GI reminds me = of some of the Chief Petty Officers I had when I was in the service. The = Chiefs run the Navy and the good ones are no bullshit, no games. GI and = WKPP have done some fantastic things. Some others have tried to copy = their accomlishments and wind up in body bags. Again, I'm just a rookie = here, but these guys and gals that belong to WKPP have to have their = shit wired to do the things they do. Scott Koplin pointed me in their = direction. Heros? "You guys" don't like to see the truth in print, so change the truth. = Personally, I am sick of the tactics and bullshit I see all but *one* = IANTD Instructor push. Dig it or don't, I don't care, it's not *my* = problem because "you people" aren't in my world. *You* guys try to make this a two sided issue. I am not GUE trained, I = don't dive DUI suits, jetfins, EE light or a scooter, and I make my own = plates. The only thing I own that's Scubapro is a belt buckle. He paid, out of his own = pocket, to come to the diagonal opposite of the part of the US he lives = in to attend a puny little gathering on the side of Hood Canal. *NOT = ONE* IANTD representative came. Not one. When it came time to stand = tall, and put *back* into the community a little bit, they welched. = PERIOD. Why is it some asshole stockbroker in Florida is such a threat to the = whole community that IANTD sucks its life from?
