Hi,

I'm hoping to pick up pointers and active discussion on diving that is
a little beyond rec.scuba. I'm a diver that dives as a volunteer for
the local sheriff's department (they have no divers of their own).
Located here in Iowa, there are very few places in this or surrounding
counties the water depth is greater than 60 feet. However, alot of my
diving is black water with visibility of under a foot, even with a
light. Many dives are also river dives, it is not uncommon to be asked
to retrieve someone or something from an area of submerged obstacals,
which have even included trees. I dive year round and enjoy ice dives
with both wet and dry suits. Currently I'm certified as a PADI Divemaster.

I hope to get wiser, thereby living longer, by watching the posts here
and learning from others instead of relying on the school of hard knocks.

Does anybody out there know of good underwater communication gear that
works very well in a river situation?

Sorry for the spelling folks, I never got the hang of how to spell.
