I don't think you're arguing in favor of that. If in fact you're *not* suggesting divers leave their main valves slightly open, then how can you, using the same logic, come to the conclusion that divers should keep the isolator slightly open? There's a reason valves on SCUBA gear takes several turns to close or open. This is *by design*. It's done as an intrinsic safety feature; it take several turns, a deliberate act, to close a valve. Bumping a valve is unlikely to accidentally close it if it's fully open.
