I DO NOT WONDER AT ALL !!!! Buying C-Cards,stealing equipment, (sometimes because of not receiving the salary), selling C-Cards without ever seeing the water,classroom - the rule no 1 for surviving in between the other suckers. After being in Phuket since 1978 on a yearly base (minimum once a year) and at the beginning very much involved in diving......also tec -diving (but only as a consultant and a freelance not dependant on money /just for fun and enjoyment), i must sadly say the following: Too much diveshops,too much western cheap charlies,too much idiots, too much wannabe diveinstructors (PADI and whatsoever),too much alcohol related desicions and promises and in the end NOT one of this guys is a real trustable business man,They all want to survive in a nice country because they could not at home.They do not re-investing anything back into the country.No professionalism at all. When i go nowadays back to Phuket , i even leave my mask at home. (People who knows me,can enterpret, what THIS means to me !!!) I enjoy the country and the locals,but I stay away from any Diving Activity at all. I like to fly home healthy !!! PATONG Beach is Hell in terms of diveshops/diveinstructors A concentrations of INSTROKETORS,which has already reached the danger-level of Mouth and Foot desease now in the UK.
