Billy, Yes I tend to agree with you when doing a dive on tables only. I am forced to use tables on my Trimix dives. (I do not have a trimix computer yet). My last Trimix dive was to a wreck at about 250ft. My normal weekend air diving is to a number of wrecks at about 160ft. On these dives (after a bottom time of about 20 to 25 minutes) I usually go by my computer. But I do a 1 minute safty stop at 130ft then 70 ft and then the last one at 50ft where I change to my deco gas of about 70%. While on the deco gas I make a slow assent to 30 ft wait for a few minutes and slowley progres up to 20--12ft depending on what the sea is doing. Hence my safty stops I usually do by my watch and the rest I let my computer tell me when I can get out of the water. When I am doing a 1 minute safty stop at 130ft my deco time is climing very quickly on the computer. So I would prefer this stop not to be a 1.5-2 minute stop, but it some times is, due to water conditions. The better the vis the longer I stay down. I can not help it I am a computer person, I trust a computer and allow for their mistakes. I have include the CC as the list seems to be bouncing my mail since lunch time yesterday. cheers frank -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
