Glenn, We did some open water dives with Northern Coast Diving. They redifined the definition of stroke. We were going to go to the caves with them (Caves Du Du - two hours from Sosua/Puerto Plata [I'm not cave certified... was just going to check out the caverns. They did, however, have no problem taking non-cave divers cave diving "It's completely safe"]) but decided that'd be farm animal stupid. :) Steer clear of these guys http://www.northerncoastdiving.com/northerncoast.html There was another guy in Sosua. I can't remember his name (maybe it was Mike). He had every cave certification known to man kind (I think he even had a GUE cert). He wasn't there while we were there but seemed like your best bet if you wanted a guide and were on the northern cost. For ocean diving there is a little sand island on the norther coast about 3 hours from Sosua that has some of the best coral I've ever seen. It's not a popular place to go (very few people go there) but is worth the trek if you can make it. If interested I can get more info from my girl friends dad who lives in Sosua. -ben --- Glenn Tucker <cavdwlr@ya*.co*> wrote: > Hello, Does anyone out there have any info on cave > diving in the Dominican republic...I would > appreciate any info you have.
