Ah, the we come full circle again! I wouldn't put too much absolute faith in those tables. PST for years circulated bogus weight tables, which gave rise to the myth that PST LP's have "better bouyancy characteristics". Like so many bad things, theese bogus numbers will not die. though its surprising to see them turn up at this late date on the nitroxdiver website. But why must the choice always be alu 80s or PST 104s? One's too light, the other too heavy. Smart open water divers often choose other steel configurations, like the Farber 85s or evem old steel 72s, either one which weighs about the same as an 80, will hold more, swim better, and have more ideal bouyancy but without being too heavy. >> How is AL 1/5 the weight of steel????? >> >> Direct from NitroxDiver.com >> http://www.nitroxdiver.com/Library/tanks.html >> Tank Weight Buoyancy Empty >> OMS 85 31.0 0.0 >> OMS 98 38.0 0.0 >> FAB 95 37.6 -1.2 >> AL 80 31.6 +4.1 >> PST 104 46.0 -2.5 >> >> Is it me or is your math off just a little here.
