SNIP I understand that Sheck was using an exponential safety factor for gas calculations. This produces quite satisfactory results for ONE dive, The drawback to this approach is that the "fluff" really gets quite generous on the second dive. This is what produces the deco stop deeper than the deepest part of the dive. YOu can run into the same problem if you "fudge" the A and B factors in Buhlmans calculations. We at DECOM have taken the approach that the user should define their own conservatism factors and that they should be straight across the board. Our users have met with success with this method for dives in excess of 700 minutes bottom time at 100 feet. We do not have any dives over 450 fsw but thats because of the logistics and cost of those dives rather than a lack of confidence in the product. Our Windows Gas Mixer will be shortly be available as shareware. As soon as I figure out where to post it, I'll make it available. Trying to get my home page fixed up, but I'm not sure I can put the file there. r.b. a.c. DECOM
