This makes a discussion hard to follow. The rest of the bullshit has always worked itself out. Interesting is the following. While the server was screwed up, the archives displayed messages from 1995. Reading them was a reminded of the Star Wars Bar Scene that used to take place here - one piece of dangerous idiocy after another. Now there seems to be a consensus of the obvious in that regard, and the worst idiots are gone or reformed. The very very worst only work through "screen names" , if at all. What has occurred in the meantime is other dive lists that purport to be special purpose have sprung up: first there was "wreckdiver", then the "rebreather list" siphoned the real slobbering silliness off, deco lists and science lists that die out fast, regional lists and other specialty lists. Each has its purpose, most are somewhat protected by the owners to prevent dissenting opinions. The RB list does not allow me for example , and I do not allow anyone but WKPP on my list. IANTD has a members list that IS the Stare Wars Bar Scene of old and GUE has a paid list. Capt JT has his VB Tech list, Barnette or Rodriguez has his Fl Tech list. A couple of things are true here: 1) if you have bullshit, it will get smoked out on here with extreme prejudice, whereas it is tolerated elsewhere ( other than WKPP ). 2) if you want an answer, somebody on here has it. 3) If the question can be answered on the list for all to see and stands up, it is the RIGHT answer, and the WRONG answers are always private and will not stand the light of day. That makes this the best list. That is what the strokes hate the most. I love this list.
