Northern Shipwreck Research (NSR) is pleased to announce that as of March
3rd our shipwreck database has reached the amazing number of 40,000 records.

If you are looking for info on a particular shipwreck, we offer free
access as follows....

WHO: Northern Shipwreck Research has been accumulating wreck info since
1979. The result is a database of more than 40,000 North American
	wrecks.

WHERE:	This database, encompassing the area between the 40th degree
north latitude and the Arctic, deals with the North Atlantic,
Central (Great Lakes area +) and the Pacific Northwest waters.
Wrecks cover more than 400 years from the 1500's to present.

INFO RECALL: Wrecks can be recalled by name of vessel, year/date of
loss, region of loss, coordinates, and/or official number (some
cases). Each wreck record has approximately 35 data fields (not
all used) detailing most aspects of the vessel along with source
	reference(s).

ACCESS: If you would like some wreck information, forward a SASE
(self-addressed stamped envelope) by snail mail to Northern
	Shipwreck Research.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to provide as much info as possible about each wreck
sought to ensure the best possible match (ie: there are more than
100 different vessels named MARY listed in the database).

INSIDE CANADA: Forward a SASE (#10) for 5 wrecks or less, or a 9" x 12"
SASE for up to 20 wrecks.

OUTSIDE CANADA: If you reside outside of Canada (as the SASE is of no use),
please replace the SASE with $1 (5 wrecks or less) or $2 (up to 20
wrecks) to cover cost of the stamp and envelope.

RETURNS: In return, a `print-screen' rough of the wreck record matching
	each request will be forwarded.

SNAIL MAIL: All requests should be via snail mail. By the net would
require our accessing the net to receive your request, then exiting
to search database, and then accessing the net again and spending
about 15 minutes per wreck to key-in data - a little impractical.

P.S.	Please include your e-mail address in case we have questions about
	your request.

P.P.S.	If you would like to assist in this research, send e-mail.
